Chair Stand
Practises getting up from a chair — one of the most useful everyday movements there is.
How to do it
- Sit near the front edge of a sturdy chair, feet flat and hip-width apart.
- Loop the EZband around both thighs, just above the knees.
- Cross your arms over your chest, or rest your hands on your thighs.
- Lean slightly forward, press through your heels, and stand up tall, keeping your knees pushed gently outward against the band.
- Pause standing tall, then reach your hips back and sit down slowly with control.
- Repeat 6–10 times.
Form tips
- Nose over toes as you rise.
- Keep your knees in line with your toes — the band reminds you not to let them collapse inward.
- Sit down slowly instead of dropping.
Using your EZband
Band above the knees. Press gently outward through the whole movement. Start with the Light band.
Beginner modifications
- Push off the armrests or your thighs with your hands.
- Raise the seat with a firm cushion.
- Leave the band off until standing up feels steady.
Safety notes
- Put the chair against a wall so it can't slide.
- Have a counter or another chair nearby to hold if you feel unsteady.
- Stop if you feel dizzy when standing; sit and rest.
