Side Leg Lift
Lifts the leg out to the side to work the hip muscles that help with balance and stability.
How to do it
- Stand behind a sturdy chair, holding the back with both hands.
- Loop the EZband around both ankles.
- Shift your weight to your left leg.
- Keeping your right leg straight and toes pointing forward, lift it out to the side a few inches.
- Pause, then lower slowly.
- Do 8–10 reps, then switch legs.
Form tips
- Stand tall — don't lean toward the standing leg.
- Small lifts are fine; it's the control that counts.
- Keep your toes pointing forward, not up.
Using your EZband
Band around both ankles, or just above the knees for an easier version.
Beginner modifications
- Move the band above the knees.
- Do it with no band.
- Do it seated by pressing the knees apart against the band.
Safety notes
- Hold the chair with both hands throughout.
- Stop if you feel hip pain.
