Seated Leg Extension

Straightens the knee against light resistance to work the thigh muscles that help you stand up and walk.

How to do it

  1. Sit tall in a sturdy chair, feet flat and hip-width apart.
  2. Loop the EZband around both ankles.
  3. Keep your left foot planted. Slowly straighten your right knee, pressing the right foot forward.
  4. Stop just short of locking the knee and squeeze the front of your thigh for one second.
  5. Lower slowly back to the start.
  6. Do 8–10 reps, then switch legs.

Form tips

  • Keep your thigh resting on the chair — only the lower leg moves.
  • Point your toes up toward the ceiling.
  • Avoid snapping the knee straight.

Using your EZband

Band around both ankles. The planted foot anchors the band while the working leg extends.

Beginner modifications

  • Go without the band at first.
  • Straighten only partway.
  • Place a rolled towel under the knee for comfort.

Safety notes

  • Stop if you feel sharp pain in or behind the knee.
  • Keep the movement smooth — no kicking.
